I'm Jordan Wamser — a preacher, teacher, and web developer based in Salina, Kansas.
For years I built things with code. Now I'm learning to build something different — faith
communities, honest conversations, and lives pointed toward God. I preach monthly at
Rock Island Church in Herrington, KS, lead growth groups and men's Bible studies at
First Baptist Church in Salina, and serve in leadership at
Men's Encounter
— facilitating discipleship, spiritual development, and genuine community for men
seeking deeper faith.
Peter didn't know he'd walk on water, help birth the church, or preach at Pentecost. He just knew
Jesus said "Follow me." That was enough.
I was raised in the Christian faith but walked away from it by middle school. What followed was nearly two decades of wrestling with depression and chasing security through career success — working constantly, not showing up for my family, and coming up empty. In August 2022, at my lowest point, a coworker invited me to a men's retreat called Encounter. That weekend changed everything. I experienced genuine community and learned that God wanted a real relationship with me, not just my work.
Over the next few years I rebuilt my faith through church, Bible studies, and faithful brothers. But as my faith grew stronger, my fulfillment in my career grew weaker. When I was let go in April 2025, God's plan became clear. I had already surrendered everything at Encounter and heard "Ministry Work" in prayer. The timing was uncanny — the education program at Providence Seminary opened to new students the moment I reached out, and the Office Manager position at Webster Conference Center, the very place where my restoration began, was waiting. My wife Jessica and I prayed, and said yes.
I've learned that God doesn't call us away from something good to leave us empty — He calls us to something better with real purpose.
A full-featured event management web application built for a regional men's ministry weekend event. The platform includes dual registration pathways for attendees and servers, backed by a custom admin dashboard that handles registration management, scholarship tracking, leadership role assignments, and event check-in workflows — giving organizers a centralized tool to manage all aspects of a multi-location weekend retreat from registration through arrival.
